How to Obtain a Driving License

How to Obtain a Driving License:

- No one is allowed to drive a given vehicle in Jordan unles
holding a driving license that is legal and valid for driving this
type of vehicle.

- It is a must that the applicant to obtain a driving license of the
types (1.2.3.7) has completed  (18) years of age.

- It is a must that the applicant to obtain a type 4 driving license has
completed 21 years of age.

- A class 4 driving license may not be applied for until one year after
the third category (manual gear lever).

- Shall not apply for a driving license from the fifth or sixth category
only after two years obtaining the category that preceded.

- The driving license applicant should be fit and his health. condition
can be assessed by an examination that's being done in the license
department.


Applicants for a driving license should submit the following documents:

a. driving license application approved by the licensing
department.
b. Three recent personal, ID- type color photos (6 X 4 cm).

c. A civil ID card. a passport, or a military assignment certificate
that is  valid and that bears the national number (for Jordanian).

d. A document showing proof of the applicants age provided it
includes the day , month and year of birth (document described
in previous paragraph (c) are acceptable ), a birth certificate or
an official document with the applicant's estimated year of birth
which the birth date will be record as the first of January of that
year.

e. A "no criminal record " certificate for those applying for driving
licenses of types 2,4,5,or 6.

f. A training certificate, for which one of the following document is
acceptable:

1. A theoretical and practical training certificate issued by one of
the licensed training center, stating that the applicant is
qualified to obtain a driving license for al which a theoretical
training certificate is sufficient.

2. A non Jordanian driving license.

3. A certificate issued by the military, staying that the applicant as
driver of first and second class, to obtain a driving license of
type five or six; third class, to obtain a driving license of type
four and forth class to obtain a driving license of type three.
